DH and I are getting away on a quick couples trip — 2 days/1 night. The kids will stay with grandma in Potomac so we’d like to find a place 1-2 hours from there. We’d go in mid-May so don’t have a ton of time to plan.
We’ve lived in DC our entire adult lives so don’t want to do a staycation here. We were thinking Frederick or Baltimore. Frederick seems cute and walkable but the reviews for bnbs there seem pretty mixed. I know way less about MD getaways than VA. Does anyone have any recommendations? Open to lots of different ideas. |

I love Frederick for a day trip but there are no good hotels.

If you can convince your parents to do two nights, drop them off at bedtime and drive and check in late. It makes such a difference to have a full day off imo. |
