Burnout getaway next week

Anonymous
I am a mom (for all intents and purposes single) and need to get away for 4-5 days ideally next week. I have childcare coverage.

Seeking suggestions for something you have done. Criteria direct flight, near the ocean or water, easy to get to from the flight, not hectic, relaxing, opportunity for exercise-walk, bike and lounging and good food near. Does this exist? Budget ideally $5000 or less. TIA.

OP again. This could also happen Memorial Day weekend. Thanks!

San Juan. Beautiful long walking trails circling Old Town. Easy flight. Great food.

I'd avoid the airport.

If you're from DC can you drive over to an inn on the eastern shore or to Cape May?

Don’t know if the flight is too long but what about California? San Francisco, San Diego? I was just alone in SF for work but had a few extra days and it was gorgeous

I've done espcape-the-burnout type trips a few times like this. I've done a short cruise, which was really relaxing. I also did a few days at the Springhill Suites Navarre Beach in Florida in a beachfront room. And, a few months ago, I did a trip to Disney World where I got to do exactly what I wanted to do, eat where I wanted to eat, etc., and I also spent a full day just sitting by the pool and reading.

San Juan, Puerto Rico is great, and you don't need a passport

Lots of beautiful resorts, beaches, Old Town, Pina Coladas, shopping, food, etc.

Montego Bay, an all inclusive, adults only, close to the airport.

Yes, CA is essentially an 8 hr day so I would spend an entire day each way traveling. Yes, beautiful and not realistic or restful.

2 hrs or 2.5 hrs direct to S Beach. I don't think it's too hot right now? Prices should b OK prob? Great food no car needed you get pool beach can walk shop sit and have a couple drinks on Ocean Dr. I'm telling you it's easy warm and offers R&R. I can think of more beautiful places but that will take more $ and time!! If you were open then I'd say PR BVI DR pick your island or even Fl Keys. My fave place to getaway will take much longer which would be CA either San Luis Obiscapo, SB or Carmel by the Sea. Right now Sedona is also prob great or Phoenix even. I would go S or W

PS - Santa Fe is great for a solo getaway too but it's a long flight.

Scottsdale, Arizona. Stay at a fancy hotel with a spa. Wonderful shopping, restaurants and hiking. I like the Scottsdale Princess and the Four Seasons.

Any recommendations for where to stay? Ocean front?
