Inn at Herrington Bay

I’ve seen this recommended a few times in threads lately. Would it be safe for a mom to stay there solo with a young child? It looks like it’s a motel-style (all rooms have entrances from outside), which I usually don’t do if I’m traveling alone. And maybe it’s near bars and restaurants not affiliated with the resort?

I grew up going there and my parents still keep a boat down there. It is motel style, but a pretty quiet and safe area. There is one restaurant on site and a market across the street with casual quick service fare.

There isn't anything to do but the pool and small bay beach - and keep in mind that the bar/pool is VERY crowded on the weekends, as Herrington sells memberships to the local community, which is very redneck-y. I would do it for a mid-week getaway when things would be quiet.
