Tell me about Fed PSC outcomes

There is a role as a 'Personal Services Contractor' open with a fed agency. The job description says it's a 1 year role renewable for 4 years and that often this is a jumping point into a career with that agency.
Those in the fed, what do you know about PSC roles and how do those professionals play out? Have you seen them actually onboarded as a fed employee? Or is it a teaser where the agency is just looking for a long term temp?

I have never seen these convert to federal jobs

They don’t convert but while you are there you can apply to openings, and will have an edge with experience.
