Left thumb and index finger tips numb

Anonymous
For the past 2 days the tip of my left thumb and index finger feel a bit numb. Almost like they’re frozen but not really tingling. Color is fine and I can still feel it when I poke them but there’s a different sensation on those two than any other fingers. I’ve been lifting heavy all week and am wondering if I pinched something or if there’s any other explanation for what could be going on?

Worth a chat with your doctor, but it could be carpal tunnel.

I get numbness in my pinky and ring finger occasionally from lifting heavy. It’s an irritated nerve. I rest it for a couple days and then try to remember to stretch when I resume. It used to happen with some frequency but hasn’t in a while so maybe it was my form.

Same. Not necessarily lifting, just any kind of repetitive stress or overuse.

You could try taking some ibuprofen to see if reducing inflammation helps.

Does it last a few days when this happens to you?
