Been out a while now!

Good hopefully she'll stay out, or even better she'll be gone.

So we currently have:

An interim superintendent
No chief of staff
No deputy superintendent
An acting chief of schools
Two acting associate superintendents of school support and well-being
An acting director of school support and well-being
An acting chief of district operations
An acting chief safety officer
An acting director of compliance and investigations
An acting director of maintenance and operations

Plus:
No Ombudsperson
An acting director of Transportation
An acting director of Labor Negotiations

Not to mention the half dozen or so acting principals. If they hire Felder there will be way more actings and vacancies because there will be another massive wave of people who leave.

I imagine no matter who they hire as superintendent there will be a wave of departures.

People generally don't like change. Many who would leave would stay put if they hire a superintendent who gives them a glimmer of hope that things will get better. Under the interim, it's more of the same.

Well this is probably a good thing since MCPS has way too much bureaucracy already. If they only got rid of 2X more admins we'd be in good shape.

But then where would they place all the staff in schools that need to be removed from school and placed into an "office"? Such as a HS Principal, a psychologist who has been transferred repeatedly, an ES front desk secretary.

I have seen some questionable "promotions" from schools to CO. It could be that a position opened up at CO, and those staff who were in a position at a school applied for the job at CO and were hired. Poster 19:46 - do you think folks get promoted to CO easily?
