Anyone have any guidance. We are both lawyers. Live in Virginia. Can we just write up an post nuptial agreement? Would it be valid/enforceable? Thanks.

How are you both lawyers and can't figure it out? Can we just write up an post nuptial agreement? YES Would it be valid/enforceable? DEPENDS ON THE TERMS |
A post nuptial agreement? This should be fun. I will get the popcorn ready. |
+1 for real troll? |
Are you planning on getting divorced? |
If only you knew a lawyer. |
Please leave the names of the firms you work at so we can never, ever, ever use them. |
The are not as enforceable as prenups depending on the state. You each need your own lawyers to review. |
Can’t you just sketch out the terms and then pay actual experience lawyers a few thousand dollars to actually get it all handled properly? This doesn’t feel like a good DIY project to scrimp and save on…
I’m in VA and floated the idea of a post nup to my divorce attorney. It’s kind of a waste of time and effort since i want to be divorced not in some sort of forever separation, but from a legal/enforcement standpoint, my lawyer seemed fine with a post nup |
What sort of post nup? Financial? I’ve never understood this unless one parter wants to promise the other partner more than half? |
Pre and post nups are for people betting on divorce. |
+1 …and how do you not know this OP? |
Haha |
