Most Affordable Nurseries Near NWDC

I generally try to avoid American Plant because of the cost (although Im only familiar with their Christmas pricing), and Home Depot is far away. I stopped by the Greek Church plant sale yesterday and WOW, it seems like their prices have tripled! Like $$8-17 for 4-6 inch annual pots. $50 for a geranium planter.

Does anyone have any good suggestions before I truck it out to HD? TIA!

I should add, not looking for anything crazy..Some terracotta planters, a few pallettes of annuals for color, maybe an ornamental grass or climber here and there.

I went to American Plant and the Petworth Ace, and the U street/14th street Ace all within a week two weekends ago. I found it varied which plants were more expensive at one vs. the other. I don't think Home Depot was much better last year. Plants are pricey! (Which is why I try to stick with perennials except for a small amount of annuals to add some summer color.)

I am also looking for cheaper annuals as I typically spend a small fortune at American Plant and am sick of doing that. If I'm willing to travel a bit, are there any cheap places in far out VA or MD?

sadly, from a convenience standpoint, American Plant is the best. You pay a killing for that convivence. I do like the one near Burdette much better than the one at Westbard.

Home Depot has been so hit or miss lately.
