Wootton shelter in place - anyone know why?

Teen texted me. Just has me worried after the prior student was arrested last week and the school sent out a mass text this morning that said doors will now be locked at 7:45am.

School just said it was a bomb threat. Then why are the kids sheltering in place inside? This doesn’t make sense. Last bomb threat they were outside

You go outside for a bomb threat. There are tons of cop cars out front. Something isn’t adding up

MCPS's decisions are rarely consistent because they aren't based on sense or establish protocols and best practices. They literally let principals make gut calls, even though principals are not deeply trained or experienced safety and security experts.

The fact they sent out a mass text at 7am this morning that all exterior doors will be locked at 7:45am every day had me weirded out.

They knew something was up. We are not getting the entire story.

And my teen at Einstein is outside texting me they are all outside, can see police, and no explanation.

But the police are at the school and the kids are still sheltering in place. So it can’t be a bomb threat. You evacuate for a bomb threat.

My kid said her teacher looks nervous. Now I am nervous.

Wootton parent here- they sent a text at 7 am? I missed that.. strange. but I got the shelter in place email.
