I can't do crossbody because I have a large chest though crossbody is closest to what I am looking for.... I am looking for a stylish, casual bag to use around town, to weekend sports etc.
It needs to be big enough for the basics (phone, wallet, makeup pouch). I gravitate towards totes but those seem stuffy to me to take to sporting events, festivals, farmers market etc. Please help me find a shoulder bag that is both not cheap looking but also casual. I'd prefer to keep this bag under $300. |
Maybe a raffia or straw tote - you could keep the bag shape that you're comfortable with, in a more casual material.

Maybe you'd like that Uniqlo nylon sling bag. COS has a leather one. |
Tory’s McGraw? |
Coach camera bag |
Maybe look at MZ Wallace bags |
OP here. Thanks for these suggestions. I guess I didn't make it clear that I didn't want a sling bag or a canvas tote or a basket type bag because I need this purse to translate into daily wear for all occasions. Sorry. |
This sounds like a Longchamp Le Pliage to me. You could also look at Madewell totes if you want leather. |
Check out Pom Pom London. I don’t have one but I’m thinking about getting one. They emailed me a code for 10% off: HELLO10WWG258DS
I’m debating between the Mayfair Plus, City Plus and Westminster styles. |
