Non-invasive body contouring?

Anonymous
I'm looking into Trusculpt and emsculpt neo to improve core strength to help jumpstart my muscles as I try to get back into shape.

One MD/provider told me Trusculpt will work for toning/strengthening, but admitted up front that the photos the manufacturer shows are not realistic - so it's not really going to work for aesthetic reasons, but that's only a secondary goal for me. I mainly need help with building core strength and being able to fit into my pants more comfortably.

I'm probably going to sign up for Trusculpt, but am also wondering about emsculpt neo.

Any thoughts?

Lose weight. Eat less; workout more.

None of these really work and they are expensive. Cool sculpting was over $1K. I looked ok for about 1 month but I think I wanted it to work. I think now, it was a waste of money. I do low-impact aerobics and do light weightlifting and eat better. I see more results, but it takes more work.

OP here - I'm at a healthy bmi, but need core strengthening help because I can't do the exercises normally prescribed for core strengthening without further injury.

Have you tried PT?

Yes, and I've actually had additional back problems with the exercises they gave me.

I had cool sculpting and am very happy with it.

It’s really only for people who are at their ideal weight and fitness level. I weighed 120 at 5’5” before and I weighed the same after. I did two spots: my abdomen and my inner and outer thighs. I didn’t mind the appearance of my thighs but they were ALWAYS the tightest part of my pants in a way that made shopping difficult. After coolsculpting I lost about an inch per thigh which made all pants fit sooo much better. My abdomen I had this little pooch that I could grab onto, and after two sessions of coolsculpting it was gone. They said I could get an even flatter stomach if I did another session but that didn’t seem worth it to me.

The toning procedures I didn’t do, because the results are temporary. You have to keep doing it. Some people go back for a few sessions every spring. But if what you really want is true core strength, I’d focus on exercise.

Thanks - that's my problem, I need a jumpstart to really do the exercises I want to do.

So see a different PT to address.

This. Not all PTs are equal. I’ve had 2 poor experiences and one great.

Can you share where you had this done? Thanks!

I don’t see how coolscultping would strengthen your core.

Your goal requires exercise and weighted core work. You core is your lower back, your transverse abs, your obliques, etc.

Yes I am not asking for coolsculptin. emsculpt or trusculpt are not coolsculpting.
