If you've seen her kitchen and know what she uses, you could try a kitchen gadget like a collapsible strainer or silicone oven mitts. Maybe something with a cheerful theme.

If you know her dietary/medicine related conditions, you could try a box of fancy fruit.

If you want to give a get close to grandchildren gift, you could look for a stuffie that records voices and have her record in her native language.

For the elderly person in my life, when I visit, I offer to buy things online that they can't buy locally. Examples include medicated eyewipes and pie crust baking shields.

A digital picture frame. Someone needs to add /change the pictures weekly. It will keep her connected with family and make her feel a part of things.

My 86 year old blind, non-English-speaking mom loves her Crocs. She can put them on by herself, and they don't make her bunions hurt.

Yes! This has been the favorite gifts of one 85 yo and one 90 year old. We got Aura frames. Just need someone to set it up for her on WiFi and then any family member or friend can be invited to the app and easily share pictures from anywhere.
