Baby registry help

I'm so lost with the registry. Can I view someone registry? Do I add stuff for when baby is eating solids? First plate set? Bibs? How many boxes of diapers and wipes?

So far we have a ton of hand me down clothes newborn -6 months and a few 9+months

We already have (either bought, family bought or getting hand me down)-

crib/mattress
Snoo and all accessories
Stroller - full size and a compact travel
Infant car seat and base
Playmat
FP piano
FP sit up seat
Bugaboo stardust Pack and play
Highchair/doubles as a infant seat
Changing table/dresser combo
Ergo 360 carrier
Bjorn bouncer
Bjorn carrier

I’d also add:
convertible car seat
sound machine
bottles + cleaning supplies
utensils/bowls/plates for solids
bibs
burp cloths
infant bath tub
various brands of wipes and diapers (including newborn sizes) because they all fit differently and you can return unused ones later

I’d add everything PP wrote plus a baby monitor, some baby proofing stuff for when baby is mobile (baby gate for the stairs? Outlet covers, doorknob covers, etc), first aid kit, nightlight, and maybe some children’s books

You can also add stuff that’s more for you like postpartum or breastfeeding supplies, nursing tank tops, things like that? A boppy? I loved my boppy.

Oh and a diaper bag

Extra crib sheets
Baby camera & monitor
Diaper bag/backpack
Hatch noise machine
Diaper pail
Travel changing pad like Skiphop
Swaddle such as Ollie swaddle
Diaper changing basket with compartments
Electric nail file
Thermometer
Baby Tylenol
Diaper balm
Suction cup blackout travel curtains
Baby bathtub with newborn insert
Baby washcloths, bibs, burp cloths, and at least one of the really big soft muslin cloths

Stuff for formula or breastfeeding (this could be its own response!)

Yes, register for stuff for the future like:
Silicone “first” toothbrush (hakaa 360, or the banana one)
Mushie suction plates and bowls
Silicone bibs

I dunno there’s so much more haha. Also I just remembered, when I was pregnant there was a cute service called Prepping for Peanut that can help you make a registry. I didn’t end up using it because I realized a bunch of my friends had a lot of the same stuff so I used that as my jumping off point. That mostly worked well.

Oh yes! The registry completion discount! That’s huge. Register everywhere…Amazon, Target etc…and add everything you even *think* you might need to your registry so that way you can buy it at a 15% discount later

Also a glider

You can register for as much or as little as you want. If you have the storage space, you can put down stuff you won’t need for months. However, it’s also fine to wait on those. I used a book called “Baby Bargains” (Denise Fields) to help me pick the best value items and to make sure I wasn’t missing anything.

Winter car seat cover (like a zip up blanket - warm and wind barrier that is very useful if you’ll be walking with stroller to metro)
Sleep sacks
Swaddles/swaddle cloths
A few first toys/first board books
Any special occasion clothes, matching cardigan & hat, etc.

There’s a car video monitor that is about $25 and is my go to “you don’t know how much you’ll need this” when kids are rear facing and every cry sounds like choking…

Lucie's List is a great resource (for all things, not just this!) and they have a good Google doc with recommendations.

Nosefrieda! Best way to clear little stuffy noses (+ saline)

These are all great suggestions. I would just say to be prepared to get a lot of these things yourself, though. In my experience, few people buy off the registry. I did get a few useful items I didn’t know I needed, but I also got a lot of impractical clothes and knickknacks. And while I was grateful for the shower, I still had to buy most of the stuff I needed. Hopefully your friends stick to the registry better than mine did!
