If you conceived 1st immediately in early-mid 30…

What was your experience trying to conceive your second? We’re your early pregnancy symptoms different? Did it take longer to stick?

I had my first at 34, conceived on first try (barely trying, wasn’t tracking just had sex once during fertile window). Now trying for a second at 36 and hadn’t happened after 7 cycles of doing all the right things. So far the doctors I spoke to are not recommending fertility treatments, and we don’t want a second badly enough to do them. But it has surprised me that it’s so much harder than the first.

I had mine at 36 and 39 and was pregnant within three months of stopping BC both times.

I did track ovulation leading up to the second. Good luck!.

I conceived 4 times in the first cycle of trying during my early thirties (two of the pregnancies unfortunately resulted in miscarriages, each followed by a successful pregnancy in the following cycle). We started trying for a 3rd at 36 (assuming it would be similarly quick) but I never even got pregnant and we opted not to pursue treatments and just stopped trying when I hit 40.

I used an ovulation tracker and got pregnant the first cycles at 34 and 37. At 34, I had a chemical pregnancy and 37 a blighted ovum, but in both cases, I got pregnant again the next cycle and went on to deliver healthy babies.

Had first baby at 34, got pregnant immediately once we started trying. Didn't want more kids. Got pregnant with my second shortly before I turned 41 while I was on the pill.

What is the reason for the ovulation tracker? Can't you just have sex every day or does it need to be more precise than that?

Immediately got pregnant with #2 and lost the pregnancy at 15 weeks. Kicked off 3 years of more losses. No happy ending even though I'm pregnant for the 9th time and under a very crazy protocol to attempt to keep this one.

It’s been awhile since I went through this so someone can chime in if I am wrong. But yes- when you’re trying the best time for sex is 24-36 hours prior to ovulation. You want to give the guys some time to get down there and hit the target. Everyday sex can “weaken” - that is not the precise medical reason but most understandable- the sperm and lower the sperm count. You want some build-up.

Conceived immediately at 33 and carried to term.
Conceived again immediately at 36.
1st trimester miscarriage.
Conceived again immediately and carried to term. Delivered just before turning 37.

Pregnancy symptoms basically the same both times.

With my first, at 31, I conceived on the second cycle of trying. I expected it to be similar when I tried for my second at 33, but it took 7-8 cycles of tracking very closely.

Good luck OP!

First conceived at 31 and second at 34. Both conceived on third cycle after going off the pill. Symptoms were essentially the same with both.

Conceived first month trying at 30, but ended in MC. Tried again and had a chemical the next cycle. Took a few months off to deal with grief of MC. Started trying again at 31 and conceived first month trying. Live birth. Tried again at 34 and again conceived first month. 24 weeks currently.

Got pregnant on the first try at 30 and 32, tracking ovulation but still. Tried for a third at 36 and it took me four cycles.
