have you ever had a memorable celebrity encounter? or been hit on by someone famous?

I haven't but I worked with someone (much older than I) who was in Las Vegas and met Flip Wilson and spent the weekend with him. She was also having an affair with her boss and he was furious that she took off and left him alone for the weekend.

Saw Dave Thomas at a Wendy's while in another country. He was in a nice suit and the locals didn't know who he was.

Talked to a member of the band Boston on the phone while working in a music related job. Had no idea who he or they were.

Bill Clinton/Al Sharpton on the NYC-DC shuttle; Danzel Washington/Tim Curry/DL Hughly/Terrance Stamp//Meg Ryan in Manhattan;my parents sat in First Class with Gorbachev & his 5 bodyguards from Moscow-DC. Kato Kalin/Wendy Pepper/BowWow/various Kennedys in G'town. Donald Rumsfeld and his children & g'children at Sushiko Glover Park during the NeoCon reign.

The most memorable encounter would have to be helping Faye Dunnaway at a clothing store while I was in college. Such a confident woman, even in her skivees. I was terrified and intrigued at the same time - after all, she is Mommy, Dearest. The cashier working with me dared me to ask her if she would like some wire hangers for her purchases. Gulp.

I had 10 minute sex with Dave Mathews in Charlottesville. Sounds trashy, but it was sweet and a lovely memory.

DH sat next to Jane Pauley on Amtrak for 4 hrs and had no idea who she was - even after she gave her name. He asked her what she did and she said she was in broadcast journalism and was in-between jobs and he offered to let her go through his Linkedin contacts to see if she wanted him to introduce her to anyone to help get her a job.

Sat next to Rob Lowe and his wife at Ego Alley in Annapolis. They had a stroller with a baby/young toddler and they were eating ice cream. They smiled and made small talk. Didn't realize for a couple minutes who he was because of his sunglasses. Nice guy!

I also met Juan Williams (former NPR, now Fox News) at the DCA Airport when boarding a plane to go to a conference. We talked about airport security, flight delays etc. He was very nice.

Had brunch next to Wolf Blitzer at the Ritz in GT. Saw bunch of celebs at J-Lo's ex husband's birthday party(Chris Judd) -- Eve (rapper), Wayans brothers, Puddle of Mudd (had few drinks with them), the black guy from Scrubs -- was getting down on the dance floor -- I danced with him. Spent New Years in Vegas few years back, hanging out with Andrew Keegan (from 7th heaven). CJ Parker dined next to us in Georgetown a few years back. Saw Sandra Oh in NYC next to us, trying to catch a cab.

Anonymous wrote:I am not sure if this counts as a celebrity but I went to high school with Timothy McVeigh (or as I have always known him Timmy McVeigh.) His sister sat in front of me in freshman Biology. My parents know his father pretty well and say he is actually a very nice, sweet person who was heartbroken by what happened.

My cousins went to school with him, too. Go Starpoint.

"Holly" from the Office was at the deli by Lafayette Park a few weeks ago.

I once mistook Andrew Shue for my friend's brother and went up and talked to him. I was so convinced I knew him, I think I convinced him that he knew me too. That or he was very polite. It wasn't until about an hour later that it dawned on me who he was.

I shook hands with Al Gore. An ex-NJ-governor slept in my bed (as a guest, I was not in it).

Another ex-NJ-governor saved me from getting a beating (jk) by my father, because we had to pretend to be a happy family bc he was at our house and I had just told my dad to F-off for the first time that morning.

Rode up an elevator with Jesse Jackson the day they found John F. Kennedy Jr.'s plane. We just talked about how sad that was. He's huge in person.

I have a feeling we were at the same event! I was working there. Did that happen to be the N'Sync or Dave Matthews event?

We met Rob Lowe in Sun Valley many years ago and he was SUPER nice! My friend said something to him and he chatted with us for a few minutes. Really grounded and down to earth. I also saw Bruce Willis headed for a ski lift that same trip.

I am laughing out loud. This is hilarious! I love it.

My favorite encounter was at the cafeteria attached to the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC). Really cute guy in front of me in line to get a sandwich, and there are NEVER cute guys at FERC. When he went to order, I heard his voice--HOLY CRAP it's Anderson Cooper!!!! Forgot that CNN HQ is right next door.....

I worked at a fancy/famous department store and have seen a lot of stars...almost without exception they are smaller and more 'normal' looking in real-life. When I was about 8 we stayed in the Anaheim Hilton, where Vicky Lawrence was attending her high school reunion. We spied on the festivities from our window (that overlooked the pool/courtyard) and kept wondering who the woman was that everyone went to take a photo with? I was eleven and my parents dared me to go down with my camera and take a photo, so I put on my best Mork n' Mindy suspenders, pulled up my tube socks and snuck into the party for my first paparazzi assignment. She was lovely and hilarious and totally complied as I stuck my flash right in her face.

I also saw Sean Connery in the Willard, sat next to Garrison Keillor at a matinee of "Death and the Maiden" in London, sat in front of Roman Polanski in a wee theater where Alan Rickman was playing Hamlet in the early 90's.
