He's in his late 70s. He's very aware he's not invincible. He's probably glad he made it to the inauguration and had some time to serve.

I thought he is 73. That’s not late 70s

Frickin' 10 years younger than our presidential candidates!! Which is absurd in and of itself...

He is 75, so mid 70s

Yes you can't, because you don't know him and know nothing about him really, only the info true or false he shares. He doesn't about this parasocial relationship you have formed with his family in your head

I don’t think anyone in their 40s with young kids and a sick wife is ready to lose their last surviving parent and significantly step up their profession responsibilities. Doesn’t matter what the role is, those circumstances are beyond stressful.

In the real world people do it all the time. This is life.

Only in Dcumlandia do people have the luxury of checking out of normal adulting such as caregiving for aging parents and young children, navigating hospice and funerals, and advancing your career to earn as much as you can to support your family.

I’m stunned by colleagues who are able to just quit working when life gets stressful.

Is it hard? Yes. But most people don’t have the luxury of opting out.

I don’t know why the King and Kate aren’t sharing their diagnosis and prognosis (or even an overly optimistic assessment). It definitely fuels speculation. I think his diagnosis is bad enough that he might not even be in treatment. I’m hopeful she will recover.

I imagine William will be a phenomenal King.👑

What makes a modern king "phenomenal"?

Ooh, yes - good question. Genuinely curious about this.

Or living "naturally". I think he did limited, if any, vaccines and ate organically amid other "natural" choices for his health

It would be a great opportunity to educate people on the great varieties, treatments, and outcomes possible. Cancer is not the death nell it used to be for a great many kinds of cancers. Being so secretive just adds to the perception that it is sure death.

The fact that they haven’t revealed the types of cancers make me suspect they’re aggressive types.

But I thought prostate is not one of the “bad” cancers?

Dont they say all men eventually get it? (and you should just leav it untreated??)

They've done a really good PR job with Charles diagnosis.

I’m skeptical that this broke right after the rumors that he’s very unwell.

There have been ~rumors~ about his health the whole time. Royal gossip is the only thing keeping British tabloids afloat. Rupert Murdoch owns Page Six.

From my very limited experience with family members of that age, after diagnosis, facing the public would be out of the question

Not coming from reliable sources. Looks like we'll all see for ourselves soon enough, since he's back to public duties in a few days.
