Apply TO to all except Rice and Cornell. Pick an ED2 from Vandy or WashU. |
Found this post when searching for odds/advice. Senior private HS parents - is this model the right one to use? Was it accurate this year (I know it depends on major, but assume non-STEM and non-CS). |
to add, can non-stem (with obvious interest in non-stem) at a big 3 go below 3.9 for top 10? i believe it happened this year at our school. |
When your entire class has only two 4.0s, a 3.75+ is treated like a 4.0. |
It’s always about your HS. Hard to compare your GPA to another school. |
These would be high reaches in our SCOIR. |
Same with us, you need to be more in the 3.9+ range nowadays for these. |
Agreed. they are all 3.9 schools at our Big3. Which pretty much limits them to the top 10% of the class. |
yes but think it’s t11-25….i think t10 is hard/impossible below 3.9 (unless hooked) |
Not Emory and WashU. 3.8+ works…better with ED2…. Yes agree with 3.9 for Cornell and Vanderbilt. |
My DS got into Emory with similar stats. |
ED or ED2? |
Which stats? 3.8? |
ED
Male 3.6 Compelling personal history Great LOR Regular ECs |
So these types of pointy private HS kids, with "themed" applications tend to get into lower ivies with a 3.8uw? That seems like a stretch, no? Can anyone confirm for this cycle? |
