. This is crucially important. While almost any generalist will be willing to “take a stab at it,” you do NOT want to risk a botched vasectomy. Complications run from an unwanted pregnancy to lifelong issues for DH including nerve damage, pain, a tugging sensation when he does you-know-what to even impotence. Find a urologist; pref a surgeon. |
Dr. Jonathan Mobley, MD. Shady Grove urology. |
Any urologist will be fine. SnipSnips are like filling cavities for them.

Tell this to my husband, who promised for years to get a vasectomy, and now that we are done with kids has decided that he doesn’t want to get one because (gasp) of the risks. Meanwhile I experienced the hell of infertility, had hard pregnancies, had two extremely hard births, nursed our kids for nearly 6 years, and have permanent stress incontinence and prolapse and nerve damage having our children, have limited ability to exercise without prolapse symptoms/leaking, and on top of that I still have to take birth control pills because I’m not a candidate for an IUD - despite my doctor suggesting that my husband really needs to step it up so I can go off of birth control now that I’m in my 40s due to breast cancer risks increasing taking it at this age. |
My husband is dragging his feet and I’m too overwhelmed to remember to take the pill every day (still breastfeeding). When he wants to resume activities he’ll make an appointment. Baby turns six months tomorrow! |
Sorry, but you are married to a jerk. But you already know this. |
