TV dinners

Have you served your kids TV dinners? If not, why not? What is your favorite?

No, the packaging seems like overkill for three kids.

They’re not high quality but I will always have a sneaking love for some of those Lean Cuisines.

I wouldn't feed anyone tv dinners.

But I have a grudge against them, I grew up eating them while my mother was out at the bar every night.

I'm confused. Do you live in West Virginia?

Do they still sell tv dinners?

Sure - not every night, but on occasion

It’s cheaper and more convenient than McDonalds. At worst, it’s at least as nutritious as McDonald’s, but many of them aren’t that bad.

I usually let them pick out some and then buy some that I think are relatively popular with our family. If they pick one with vegetables, I count it as a win. We still do McDonald’s now and then, but it’s pretty rare.

My teens like the Indian meals and Mexican bowls from Trader Joe’s.

DH likes the French bread pizzas

I’m confused. How ignorant are you about West Virginia? Would you say “very” or “shockingly”?

We do some Trader Joe's ones.

And some of the Lean Cusine protein ones, but they are so small hardly worth it. LOL

So bad, but we really like Marie Calendar's Chicken Pot Pies. I get the big one for DH and the regular size for the kids and me. Serve with steam in a bag mixed vegetables. (Bird's Eye, I think.)

I've also done the lasagna rolls from the chef with the spiky bleached blond hair. Gordon Ramsey?? Not bad. Served with a frozen pizza and salad. Kids love it.

It's also more relaxing than getting home and everyone trying to get a cooked meal on the table every single night.

That, and a snob.

A trader joes frozen meal is not a tv dinner.

A tv dinner has to have a main — preferably sirloin steak— at least one veg and dessert all heated and served in one tray with compartments.

I disrespect you because you are cowering about something that is perfectly fine.

Thank you! Yes, a frozen entree is NOT a tv dinner.

I remember getting my kids hungry Man or Kids Cuisine. More as nostalgia for me. It was fun. They liked the little dressier.
