What's better for player development?

Being in a top tier team and barely playing, but practicing with elite players?

Or being in a mid-tier team and playing a lot, but practicing with good players, not quite elite?

What are the rankings of your hypothetical top tier and mid tier teams?

Top tier team being in the top 10 in rankings.

Mid-tier team, somewhere between 30-50 in rankings

I think it depends on age. Younger years I think it’s better to play. Older years, the quality of team can matter for getting recruiting eyeballs - even if actual playing time is low. If getting recruited is not an endgame, then go for playing time and friends regardless.

Playing is always better if you have a decent coach.
