Middle school summer activities

Can anyone please suggest some constructive activities for a rising 8th grader? Don’t need a summer camp as such but will go to 2-3 weekly summer camps if they are interesting.
Also, does anyone know if there are programming classes for 13 year olds?
Want them to busy rather than just play on computer

What location are you in? I have heard Code Ninja in Arlington is good.

Code ninja is too basic for a rising 8th grader. Maybe tic?
