What does your PTA do for teachers during teacher appreciation week? What do teachers appreciate receiving? |
donuts
flowers gift cards lunch breakfast chocolate fountain |
Just give your child's teacher a gift card. |
or cash |
$20 limit on gifts to teachers, who can, per policy, get fired for accepting more. If your school is like mine, buy teachers pencils and some copying paper. We could use it. |
Ha! |
It’s about time to update that policy. You can barely buy a children’s picture book for $20. |
I’m a teacher. I write letters to my one kids’ teachers. They don’t need mugs or chocolate. They need appreciation and encouragement.
Things are ROUGH right now. I want them to know I see what they do and I appreciate it. For teachers who truly impress, I CC the principal. |
I send in a note and gift card. My kid is in MS now so I’m sending to 3 specific teachers who have helped/encourager my child a lot this year.
The PTA suggested a treat on Monday, flower on Tuesday, note on Weds… can’t remember the rest but it’s too much on my brain to do a different thing every day…. |
Good suggestions. Thanks, a fellow teacher |
Cater breakfast or lunch, even if it's something simple like pizza and salad. Knowing I don't have to pack a lunch that day is more stress relief than you'd think. |
21:26 - yes |
Will $20 buy one rim of copy paper and a box of 30 pencils these days? |
Cash or good liquor. |
Middle school teacher here- this is the move; a nice (specific) note and CCing admin. They often don’t know what we do or see behind the scenes. |
