What type of ultrasound at 12 weeks?

| I had a transvaginal ultrasound at 8 weeks to confirm the growth and heartbeat of the baby. Another was scheduled for a standard perinatal specialist at 12 weeks. Will that be an “outside” ultrasound? Just trying to prepare. |

| Yup, external. However, if it looks like your placenta is close to your cervix, they may also do a transvaginal ultrasound to get a better look (happened to me). |
