What schools have started offering from the waitlist?

I know UVA has extended about 50 offers. Have any other schools moved to the waitlist?

One my son's classmates got off the Wisconsin waitlist last week (possibly even two weeks ago.)

I think South Carolina and Clemson.

If offered a spot off a waitlist, about how long does the student get to make a decision?

Once colleges offer waitlisted students spots, will there be some cascading effect - that is, if a student who put deposit on another school (A) accepts the offer to enroll from the waitlist school, then school A will now have spot to offer to their waitlist. Will it be normal to hear of kids accepting spots off waitlists into June?

Usually 24-48 hours.

Not necessarily. Since schools don't expect 100% yield, a student declining doesn't necessarily mean they go to the wait list.

Even in this scenario where a student has committed/paid a deposit to School A - and then jumps ship when they get offer from waitlist School B? So some schools factor in/try to estimate how many admitted students who pay deposit will end up backing out? I guess that makes sense.

Moving this up. Any new waitlist movement?
