Spanish Immersion at White Oak Middle School

A friend of mine told me that there’s a Spanish immersion program at White Oak Middle School. However, I don’t see any information about it on their website. Does anyone know anything about it or have any feedback?

Newer, I believe. Some of the area that used to go to SSIMS for Spanish Immersion now goes to White Oak.

I thought they were expanding the middle school immersion. I saw something about something at Newport Mill.

That’s only for (1) kids coming from the program at OTES and (2) kids who can test in as fluent speakers already.

Is that not true of the immersion programs at White Oak MS and SSIMS?

Kids in Rock Creek Forest immersion go to Westland.

Kids in Burnt Mills and Page immersion programs go to White Oak.

The feeder patterns changed last year.

From the MCPS website Immersion FAQs:

My Grade 5 student currently attends an immersion program. Which middle school site will my student attend?

For students who attend a one-way immersion (OWI) program, they will articulate to the feeder middle school assigned to the elementary immersion program, or attend a hub closer to the student’s home middle school based on home address with the exception of Silver Spring International Middle School (SSIMS).
