No but I don’t want it to look dead and get muddy. I was looking into micro clover but it seems to die in the winter |

12 bucks a sqft kidding. but should be just under 1000. its nearly a full pallet of sod...
but why is the area in bad shape. shady, too wet, weedy, compacted...etc. you need to address the cause. otherwise you'll back here in a year asking the same question. |

| If you’re patient enough to water daily, you can just overseed. Basically, take up any leaves put down grass seed and compost and water, water, water. I just used Jonathan Green Black Beauty, Delmarva to fill in a bald patch and it germinated within 10 days. |

We DIY'd last year for ~$500 - best money we spent.
- Demo was the most work - tear out what's there, level, amend soil - Laying sod was actually pretty easy and fun (watch some YouTube) - We spent like $250+ on watering (we did lay it in August, so that's partially why, but it was a major cost I hadn't planned for). Came back perfectly this year and we are thrilled. Agree with PP's that you should figure out why your current yard is struggling. If you go the sod route, recommend Central Sod in NoVA - they were great to work with. |

| Rent a truck and go to one of the sod farms in Manassas / Chantilly and get a pallet worth. Cost is about 30 cents a square foot. |
