Because that doesn't seem to be the case of DCUM. |
Dcum is not representative of the real world. |
In the DMV? No. In the rest of the country? Yes. |
80 K is a good salary. |
I am a teacher and I know plenty of people of all ages who make less than 80k here in the DMV. |
Oh FFS.
Yes. In fact it is "normal" to make a hell of a lot less than that. |
So 31 making 78K? That’s not a lot.
At 31 I was at 115 +65 bonus, that was 15 years ago. Today I pay someone 100K in fly over country she is younger than you. |

If everyone was after money, who would work at places like schools, NGOs, fire stations ,government and global initiatives? |
Add to that, campaigns, presidential administrations, Congressional aides, journalists, nontenured faculty, arts administrators, the list goes on. |
The average American makes 80k as a married couple /two income household.
The DC area isn’t the norm |
Another teacher here. I also know a lot of people who make less than that. They represent many different professions, too. I think it’s a DCUM thing. People would benefit from getting out of their bubbles. |
That's the news from Lake DCUM, where all the women are 10/10, all the men are narcissists, and all the children are above average. |
55 and make less than 80k per year |
Per job not bad. The kids today are overemployed. They have two to three fully remote jobs at same time. |
