Would you feel okay flying Boeing these days? Dh booked that to go to France. I am a VERY nervous flyer and not sure I can do it.

Thank you, it is a 777 which makes me feel a little better. I am still going to get sick from the anxiety about this trip. I'd need meds for two months to not worry about it.

We recently returned from Europe and flew the 787 (Dreamliner) in both directions. The departing flight was about a week after the 787 incident in Australia where the plane plunged suddenly. I was a bit anxious, but also reassured that in that particular situation they appear to have found the issue and remedied it, and also while there have been some scary high-profile incidents with Boeing planes, there are hundreds flying every day with zero issues. I think it can be hard to be rational because flying feels out of our control (unlike driving, which is much more dangerous but where we feel that we are in control), but I do think these planes remain very safe.

I don't pay any attention to the plane I'm flying when I book a flight.

Yeah I think it would be illogical to try to avoid Boeing planes.

This. I don't care what kind of plane it is.

We flew a 737 (not sure which model) over Spring Break and all I did was note that the emergency doors are in place, instead of the "door plugs." Otherwise, all was good.

I guess that you don't realize that a lot of US airline Boeing planes are 20 years old. Stuff falling off of them is the fault of the airline.

I’m on a Boeing plane right now. Have flown the Max several times over the last few weeks. My only reluctance to flying Boeing is that the seats on the 737s are slightly narrower than the seats on the Airbus A320 family. But because my primary airline is United, and because they mostly fly Boeing, it is what it is.

I fly almost every week and have been on many Boeing blanes, including 737's, in the last few months. Yes, I notice when the safety card says 737 on it, but I really don't think about it. Driving to the airport is probably riskier than the flight itself.

You are more at risk in any car in the US.

You are more at risk because of Trump and his cult.

You are more at risk from Christian nationalism than you are flying.

Not worried at all! Flying a Dreamliner on United next week.

I am avoiding Boeing right now (the 737s at least.) I had to fly an Alaska 737 from Hawaii the day after the door fell off the 737 in Portland. (The flight wound up being cancelled) It seems like every week there's a new issue with a Boeing plane, and I don't want to be on one of them. Then a whistleblower just came out today and said the Dreamliners aren't safe. I would prefer Airbus if possible.
