Child support

We’re in VA. We had support set be made a tad more. Now he makes about 35k more. Will it be a tough road to get my support increased? We have one kid, 50/50.

I mean run the guidelines and see what it says?

If he doesn’t consent, will the court do anything. It goes from me paying him about $100 a month, to me paying him about $20 a month (he has the insurance for the child).

You should be able to get a modification assuming his income has risen more than 10% which I assume a $35K increase would be and it changes the CS by $80 a month. Are you sure you're properly including the cost of the insurance today vs when the order was established? That could easily wipe out the change in the amount from your calculations if it has been a few years since the original order.

^edit: I am also assuming you will be representing yourself. This isn't cost effective if you need to hire an attorney.

What does your agreement say? Many have a clause that requires mediation when one party wants to reassess child support. What does your lawyer say?

Please, continue asking random internet jackalopes for legal advice instead of asking an actual matrimonial attorney.

Probably not that much. You pay minimal support.
