New number and spam

I got a new phone, a Samsung, and new number. I've been getting 1-4 spam calls and/or texts each day. The most recent was a mms text with 20 numbers attached. I block and report the numbers as spam. I registered my number on the do not call list, but what else can I do? Would changing my number help? AT&T is my carrier. Thanks.

Someone had that number before you. You can't avoid it, but try NOMOROBO.
