Iowa's 94-87 victory over LSU in the Elite Eight of the women's NCAA tournament Monday night averaged 12.3 million viewers on ESPN

Iowa-LSU outdrew all but one of the five games in last year's NBA Finals, along with the clinching game of last year's World Series (11.48 million).

This year the women's tournament is so much better than the mens. The women's has more recognizable stars, real rivalries, charismatic coaches, and the quality of play is more watchable

I watched the game and it was phenomenally fun. Such an exciting time for women sports

Iowa, SC and UConn is an amazing lineup for the final four.

The mens tournament basically has one dominant team and a few teams trying to be spoilers

I always hated men’s pro BB and men’s college has become that.

Women’s NCAA is like men’s college use to be. I love it so much fun.

People thought women’s sports could never get the viewership to make money.

Eat it.

It’s just a shame that South Carolina was handed such an easier route to the championship game.

It’s a novelty. Every few years there will be a great story like the Iowa player and casual fans will tune in. But it’s not sustainable. It never has been.
