Day trip tomorrow around DC with almost 14 year old son

Anonymous
My son will be 14 in a few weeks. He’s off from school tomorrow. Any ideas where we can go for just the day and do something fun together and memorable-we live in dc but open to anything that he won’t roll his eyes to.

Thanks

Couple of good ideas above. I’d add the hirshorn (modern) if you haven’t been in a while.

If going with a friend, I love the mlk library that was redone beautifully. Theres an indoor slide, roof decks and a cafe and an awesome teen room. Also exhibits on dc history, including the 80s/90s punk scene and civil rights.

Theres also a zine making workshop at mount pleasant library, and an unveiling of the new metro train cars on the mall:

Spy Musuem is lame. And overpriced. Why not ask him what he would like to do?

The main pavilions are closed. You can still walk the grounds though.
