My son will be 14 in a few weeks. He’s off from school tomorrow. Any ideas where we can go for just the day and do something fun together and memorable-we live in dc but open to anything that he won’t roll his eyes to.

Spy Museum. Tell him he can bring a friend. |
Glenstone Museum, take the shuttle |
Have him help you plan it |
Rosedale island hike |
Couple of good ideas above. I’d add the hirshorn (modern) if you haven’t been in a while.
If going with a friend, I love the mlk library that was redone beautifully. Theres an indoor slide, roof decks and a cafe and an awesome teen room. Also exhibits on dc history, including the 80s/90s punk scene and civil rights. Theres also a zine making workshop at mount pleasant library, and an unveiling of the new metro train cars on the mall: https://wtop.com/things-to-do-in-dc/2024/03/events-femme-fatale-dc-zinefest/ |
Maybe an electric scooter tour around DC |
Lunch at Union Market |
Billy goat Trail at Great Falls |
Spy Musuem is lame. And overpriced. Why not ask him what he would like to do? |
The main pavilions are closed. You can still walk the grounds though. |
