Best way to remove thick, dense leg hair?

Anonymous
I am a woman in my mid-40s with dense, thick leg hair. I have been shaving most of my life and am tired of it. Shaving daily or every other day takes a lot of energy and time and I cut myself a lot. There must be a better way.

I am wary of paying for waxing since it could last only a bit longer. And costs $$$ and time at a salon. But have others thought it was worth it?

What about home epilation kits? Do those work? They sell them on Amazon and it looks like it would be pretty easy to use.

Other ideas I haven't thought of?

I'm 41 and finishing up with laser hair removal sessions for my legs and it has been an amazing difference in 6 sessions. I highly recommend spending the money on it.

I did laser 10 years ago and I'm so glad. I had some minor regrowth but it's sparse so shaving is quick and I only do it maybe once a week in shorts season.

You may have to shop around to find the best laser treatment for your skin and hair. I tried a couple places before getting lasting results (and the best for me was not the most expensive).

Laser PP here, back to say you could try Nair. I don't love it but you can't cut yourself.

If you have medium toned skin with dark hair: laser. I will take time but laser is definitely worth it.

Laser is not recommended for darker skin tones. It can cause uneven pigmentation in darker skin. Same with super light skin.

I got one of the home laser devices and it works great. It is time consuming on the legs but it works!

I did this at around 40 also and it was BY FAR the best money I’ve ever spent on myself. Did armpits and bikini area too.

I use Braun silk epil. Like an epilady. It’s been great. No more thick hair. But it does take a few months for hair to become finer and to not be so painful.

Epil lady are great but also waxing at home is really easy. Waxer and beads off amazon.

I used to use Nair in HS and college. It left my legs smoother for much longer than shaving - and it's cheap so not the worst option.

Now that I'm post-menopausal, I can go months without shaving my legs. The hair there is sparse and slow growing. You should definitely do laser hair removal at younger ages!
