Is Wagshal's worth going to if you don't live in Spring Valley?

I'm expanding where I buy groceries and am looking for high quality bakery goods, deli meat, things you can't find at every store. What's good at Wagshal's? Is it worth a trip?

We like it, but we live 5 minutes from it - I’d say it isn’t worth a trip if you don’t live nearby as there must be grocery stores and markets where you can replicate most items (I am surprised you have even heard of it if you don’t live nearby).

No, I lived in AU Park for a while and we went to there frequently, but Wagshal's only has a few good things -- the butcher is good for beef and sausages/hot dogs but very expensive. They have good sandwiches at the deli counter (for the most part). Alcohol selection is terrible and overpriced and the deli items in the prep food section in the back are gross (as are all of the desserts -- taste of freezer burn/refrigerator odor). A lot of the "specialty" food seems like it has been hanging around too long. If you want specialty groceries, I'd go to Balducci's. There aren't really any great grocers anymore in this area.
