I’d love to see people post their kid’s top 2-5 choices they were admitted and what thoughts they used to select their final choice. I will post my kid’s info down thread.
I’ll post for my own college back in the 90s as an example. Example: Admitted to Pomona, William and Mary and UMD-CP. Visited all three. Pomona was really far and I didn’t really click with the other girls. UMD seemed too big and I didn’t want huge classes. Attended W&M. |
Admitted to UVA, Northeastern, UF, U Miami, UMD, McGill, VATech, UVM, Pitt, MSU
Waiting on reaches (a few ivy) visited most of them leaning UVA (we're OOS, so not about the money) |
Can we add major or anticipated major? thanks! |
can we also add stats please for us doing this next year thanks! |
nice selevtion, kid will apply to all of these next year exceptFlorida-doesnt like the heat |
UF is pretty generous with money for high stat OOS kids; they also have a deal where if you have a grandparent in FL, you can qualify for in-state tuition |
You need to give it a rest. |
Not posting this here.

why are people so concerned about what other kids do?
Find a hobby, feed the homeless, pick up trash on the highway do something to help society. |
+1. The preoccupation with what other kids are doing is puzzling, pathetic and self defeating. Look at the college hate threads to see how much this adversely affects grown adults. |
NP here - This was new and helpful information to me. Thanks, PP. |
Thank you |
BC early decision, Finance. |
You're pathetic. Some people are interested in colleges you don't approve of, evidently. |
OP again: I don’t care about stats or all acceptances. I wanted to know HOW kids decided where to go from the 2-5 schools they were admitted to, My DD is getting stuck on selectivity rather than fit so I was curious how other kids were deciding. This isn’t about results. It’s about making a final choice. |
