Palm Royale on Apple TV

Did anyone watch this? I watched two episodes and can't believe how bad it is but can't explain why. Such a great cast but it doesn't work.

I agree with you! It moves pretty slowly. I can’t get through the first episode.

I was very disappointed, too. I thought with that cast, it would be great. First episode was really slow, and not funny. Not sure if I'll go back to it even though I love Kristin Wiig.

The period details and cast are intriguing to me, but I tried watching Feud: Capote vs Swans for those reasons and I didn't make it past the second episode.

It seems like such a departure from the book it was based on

Feud: Capote was excellent.

I like it!

We watched episode 1 of both it and “Apples Don’t Fall” last night. Both DH and I agreed that Apples was much more compelling, more quickly. That said I can see us (or at least me) giving Palm Royale another few episodes to grab us. It’s a visually gorgeous show, if nothing else.

I couldn't even get through the 1st episode. Such a great cast, but disappointing.

Agree with this analysis. Apples is interesting and Palm Footage was disappointing because I nor enjoy Kristen Wig.

It’s so awful and not in a good way. It’s unwatchable despite the cast.

Kristen Wiig look fantastic!

I’m only still watching it for the wardrobe and set designs because I LOVE that era and have a MCM house. The cast is so good (and I’m obsessed with Laura Dern) but the plot is dumb.

It gets better, on episode 4. Amazing cast. And I can’t get over how young Kristin Wig looks
