At what age did your son's feet grow the fastest?

My son is 12 and his feet are growing like crazy. I cannot keep up with it with shoe purchases!

This is a weird question. Are you writing a research report? Nobody will be the same. I also suspect that most people don't actually know, they are just guessing.

Usually it is around puberty age, whenever that may be. Varies widely.

DS1 was probably 13-15 for the feet…DS2 earlier, more like 11-12.

I wouldn’t be buying ahead or planning ahead in any case, if that is the question.

Same. I would like to know, because my DS already wears size 10 at age 12.

My kid went from a size 6 to a 10 in the six months before he turned 13.

We saw a foot specialist for Sever's and he said peak foot growth usually was about 2.5 years behind peak height growth. I thought that was interesting.

Feel free to see your way out to another thread, if the topic doesn't interest you.

My almost-13 yo ds's feet seem to grow at the exact same rate as always. Needs a half size bigger pair of soccer cleats every new season. No spurts really.

Behind? Both of my kids had peak foot growth ahead of peak height growth. I think that's more common.

Now 15 year old's feet grew the fastest spring of 6th grade into fall of 7th grade, which would be right around age 12 for him. He hasn't grown in almost a year so he might be done, in which case he was done growing right around 14 1/2. So that tracks with the Sever's doc.

PP-that's what i meant, sorry. Feet grow first, then height.

I haven’t seen a major growth spurt with my almost 14 year old. He seems to be a slow and steady kind of guy, as with his height.

He currently is size 10, which is the same size as my 6’1” husband, and has been for over a year. He’s hopeful his feet are done growing so he can justify buying expensive shoes.

Age 12-13 for my kid. New shoes every few months. He’s 5’4 wearing a 9.5 now, so hope the height catches up soon because proportionally his feet look huge.
