what would you prioritize

Considering 2 preschool / daycare options for my 3yo. He will definitely go to a different school at 4 so this would just be 1 year. I'd have him there from 8:15-4.

Current school - one class, mixed age 2 - 5 (about 15 kids total). School is one room. Teachers have been there forever and are very warm. No specials teachers come in, no other classrooms / gyms etc to go to for variety. Walks to playground 2x a day or goes on nature walk if wet. Has very small indoor climbing structure for bad weather.

New school - one of the bigger chain daycares with age specific class. More teach turnover and less of a cozy home feel (lots and lots of kids and classes). But more variety with "specials", other play spaces and toys to go to, bigger indoor playground for bad weather, also walks to playground 2x a day

I love the cozy/ home home like feel of the one but wonder if the exact same 3 teachers, one room, same toys etc all day every day will not be stimulating enough. I don't care about formal academics - both do standard letters of the week, art projects, talk about things like weather etc.

If you know you'll move him in a year, just keep him in the current place. It's fine!

Can you do extra fun things after school and on weekends to add spice to his life? If so, I'd do current school. Little kids feel secure in routine and repetition.

Teacher turnover is a huge turnoff for me.

Based on what you've put here I'd keep him at the current school. Consistent warm caregiving is so important. High teacher turnover is rough on kids. IMO having specials/a fancy facility is not important. Is he showing signs of being bored? Will he still have same age peers if he stays?

Current place 100% since you’ll be moving him at 4 anyway.

Current School ~ it's only a year. Don't overthink this.
