World has enough denim

Agree but this is true for most items. We have too much stuff and it’s killing our planet.

Do we though? Since people have gotten fatter, do we have enough in bigger sizes? Also, consider whether we've leveled off on gaining weight. Are we going to get even bigger?

Cotton is used in way more than jeans. Way more than clothes for that matter.

This is just how my brain works. It was my first thought. Denim jeans were invented in the 1800's when people were smaller. If we stayed the same size, maybe I could see reusing jeans for decades. But if 100 people need jeans and 40 of them need a size 14 or larger, but in the olden days for every 100 pairs of jeans only TEN were made in a size 14 or larger, how do we have enough denim NOW? And, have we leveled out? In 20 years will 50 percent of American be considered obese? Will we need jeans in larger extended sizes than we have now? This seems like common sense to me.

Decades? My favorite jeans from the aughts got a hole in the butt I’m about ten years. Now, I’d patch them, but that wasn’t trendy in 2015. That’s probably only last 20 years of heavy wear, with patching.
