When did your son hit his growth spurt?

8th grade son is still small but younger for grade with summer birthday. He keeps asking when he will grow. Curious-when others hit their growth spurts?

My brother hit his in 10th grade so I wouldn’t worry, OP. Maybe it’s worth asking when your son’s father hit his?

9th grade. He looked like a different person from Aug to April. He’s in 10th now and grown more but nothing like that year.

10th -11th. Hes still growing at almost 17. Both his dad and I were very late- I was 15 when I got by first cycle so we kind of expected it

I’m not sure my 8th grade son will have a major growth spurt- slow and steady seems to be more his speed. His good buddy did grow over 7” in a year, which was astonishing to witness!

11th grade. He'd always been about 50th percentile in height, maybe a bit below in early teens. Then shot up and is now 6'1", maybe 6'2", I think he's still growing a little at 19

Seems to just be starting at 15 (10th grade, late summer birthday).

9th grade. Both boys grew about 6 inches that year. My oldest tapped out a little earlier than his friends. He was 6'1 1/2" at 15, and I think he's about the same now at 19. Some of his friends kept growing through high school.

Just popping in to say both of my boys were really late bloomers and really didn't hit puberty until they were 16+. It was hard on them the first two years of high school but they look like normal adults now --- so just tell him to hang in there (assuming doctor agrees).

10th grade

Huge range of normal on this. Mine hit it in 6th grade so 12-14 were his big growth years.

My son is an August birthday (so on the younger side of grade) and didn’t really start growing until about 14.5. This was in the spring of 9th grade. He is still growing steadily in 11th grade. I am not sure how much they grow, but I heard about 8-9 inches total from the start of their growth spurt until they finish puberty.

10th grade for my first two. My current 9th grader hasn't had a growth spurt yet.
