I am in my late 30s. I've always had a round, chubby face. When I was younger it kinda gave a young-ish feeling but now I can see my cheeks sag and the extra fat/loose skin just exacerbate it.
I am considering a mini facelift. It will be my very first plastic surgery so I'd rather stick to something less invasive. If you have had it, what's your experience? How much did it run you, is it worth the cost? |
I am considering this as well. I am you plus about 6-8 years (45) and the jowls and saggy neck line went crazy seemingly overnight. I hate it. I have zero wrinkles (thanks Polly skin and sunscreen), but the jowls, uneven neckline and turkey neck are aging me so fast. |
Yup that's exactly my face - I have oily skin and virtually no fine lines. And one day after 35 the jowls showed up like overnight |
I work on the industry so some thoughts for you.
1) IMO threadlifts (much less invasive than surgery) and Morpheus8/Profound are really awesome at getting a mini-lift 2) Some issues (like jowels) can be helped with filler alone |
PP here, Polly = oily. Thanks iPhone. |
Does this help the neck as well, or just the jowls/jawline? |
You are in your late 30s and jowly? I'm 45 and not even close to that...seriously. I would question more your lifestyle--stress levels, diet/water intake, child rearing habits, exercise, and get those under control before you get a mini facelift. Otherwise you'll look great for a year and then look even worse than you currently do. Good luck! |
Well, you must have good bone structure. Gravity tends to win though. Things like a receding chin, narrow mouth, poor mandibular forward growth, etc... can contribute to sagging/jowls no matter what lifestyle. |
Do not get a threadlift. They last less than a year. Go with a mini facelift instead. |
Ditto this. I had a threadlift and it maybe lasted a year and it wasn't cheap (several thousand) |
Unless OP is doing heroin, living on the street and raising 8 kids I doubt lifestyle is contributing that much to her jowls or looks in general. I work in the cosmetic surgery field. Some women get early jowls. Some get a turkey neck. Some get significant crows feet and translucent skin. 99.9% of how you age is genetic unless you are a huge outlier. We have chain smokers who lifeguarded for a decade who have better skin than others who never smoked or spent significant time in the sun. So much of this is genetics (and this doesn't mean that you'll age as your mom did but rather that you'll age according to how your genes are expressed) I personally am almost 50 (next year) and have some jowls, the neck of a 30 year old (zero sagging/wrinkling), and moderate crow's feet. My closest friend has significant neck sagging. You get what you get. |
OP if you've always had round, chubby face, then you can consider buccal fat reduction. Dr. Chaboki has some good before/after. I think 30's is too early for facelift, even a mini lift. Agree with others to avoid thread lift. |
+ 1 on this . I work in the industry and any self respecting board certified plastic surgeon will tell you not to do threads. You’ll look great for a month or two and then your skin will sag again |
what is a mini face lift? |
What is the general price range for a mini facelift? |
