Fort Myer used to have a wonderful Sunday brunch at the Officer's club. I called to make reservations and they indicated that they no longer have Sunday brunch unless you reserve a catered brunch event for a large group.
The website for the Fort Belvoir officer's club indicates they are closed until further notice. Is there a place on-base in the D.C. metro area that does brunch on Sundays? Thanks |
and, I take it, you or spouse is an officer? Don't you have your own forums in which to discuss this? |
I thought those got dismantled when I was a kid. Even in HS in the late 90s it was the community club on post unless we were in Europe. |
The O Club at Ft Belvoir was our absolute favorite place to go for Sun brunch and week day buffet lunch. A casualty of Covid. My understanding is that they were going to “renovate” but clearly nothing has been done in the years since they closed in 2020. We are super bummed. |
On base brunch? Like a chow hall? Just go to Denny's. |
Wow, the Ft. Myer officers club brunch was a staple of my childhood. Definitely not a chow hall/Dennys. |
Ft. Belvoir was a wonderful family memory for my family. Our parents use to take us there for holidays and Sunday brunch. I keep hoping they would open it back up. The last time we went as a family for Easter there were probably 20 of us all family it was wonderful. Hoping to recreate that memory again.

I've called the Officers Club and looked all over Ft. Belvoir website still not seeing any new postings. |
You've obviously never been to an Officer's Club. |
People without military exposure have no concept of Enlisted vs. Officer life and social status. |
There is nothing special about the Officer's Club. We are enlisted but have been to the one on the Naval Academy. Its not very good. |
Typically enlisted access is E7 and above (so NCOs) plus officers. Not saying they're all great--who said that? |
I haven't been in years, but maybe Ft. McNair? Lovely setting. |
Quantico is having a Easter champagne brunch |
