MAFS Denver

I haven't seen a thread on Married At First Sight season 17 in Denver. Is anybody watching?!?!?
They've clearly shifted production to be much more authentic, unforced and less sensational, which feels boring at times, but much more "voyeuristic" in a good original reality tv premise.

I stopped watching a few seasons ago because it seemed like they were deliberately setting up incompatible couples just for the drama. Maybe I’ll give this season a chance.

I've noticed a difference this season, too. Everyone seems very supportive and earnest. I'm waiting for the other shoe to drop since we're still on the honeymoon episodes though.

As for "boring" - MAFS is always drawn out (with so many commercials! I don't have cable so I watch in the background via the Lifetime website). Curious to see Michael re-enter the picture with a new bride and how that changes things up.

Anyone still watching??? Not sure what to make of the remaining couples. The "experts" seem to ignore some pretty important things when matching them, like religion!!!

Seriously-- that's a dealbreaker for many people, and at least two of the couples. This year's couples do seem less in it for fame, though I'm suspect of anyone who doesn't even tell their parents they're doing this show (i.e. the NZ guy).

I actually believe that he didn't want to discuss it with his dad because he's sick. I also think that they likely have a much more estranged relationship than he's admitting. If he's too sick to talk to about MAFS, then I would have thought this wouldn't be the right time to go on a show like this. Unless he's extremely lonely in the world right now.... It might connect back to his apprehensions regarding organized religion.

Any thoughts on Orion and Lauren. They initially seemed like a perfect match. The twist and turns of their feelings have been intense.

I also feel very bad for Emily. She's never been in a relationship and the first one she's in, her husband isn't attracted to her. I hope that this doesn't wreck her self-esteem. I also feel that Brennan is handling this very maturely and people are being unfair to him by trying to force him to say out loud that he isn't attracted to her. What good would that bring when he's still trying to be kind?

Anyone else watching? this is season such a train wreck. And what is going on with Becca and Austen? Is he just not attracted to her?

Bumping this thread to see if anyone wants to chat about it?

Definitely NOT the best season for matching!!

This season is what happens when they recruit people from social media. None of the men seem to actually care whether they’re married or not (except for maybe Michael.)

I got very bored and annoyed with this season and tapped out after that rejected guy finally got married. None of this season’s participants are particularly endearing, and I actually find the majority of them straight up cringe.

Based on the weirdness I’ve seen so far, it’s a very very slim chance that any of the couples stay married, and it’s clear most don’t even like each other, so I stopped watching. Horrible season, one of the worst.

What is wrong with the men this season? Well most of them--Michael seems like a mature and sincere guy.

The others had no business even trying to be in a relationship, let alone a marriage.

This season was so bizarre. I can’t tell if the women or men were the problem. Probably both!

This was the weirdest season ever. One couple lasted a week and then spent the next year "healing". Another couple got married, split, and then said "this is how divorce should work" -- they were married for eight weeks!
All the couples seem like they totally lied throughout the show. Really annoying.
