Does anyone have a recommendation for an educational psychologist. We will be applying for Pre-K next year and are looking for recommendations for individauls who administer the WPPSI-III. Any recommendations of who to go to or who not to go to for testing?? Our child is slightly shy and I would like to find a tester who is sensitive to that.
Thanks. |
Dr. Blackwood Ellis was great our DC has similiar characteristics. |
We had our almost 4yr. old son tested by Joel Adler of Assessment Associates in Chevy Chase. He was wonderful with DS, who does not open up easily to adult men (adult women is another story). He immediately got DS out of his shell and had him showing off how fast he could run, talked about superheroes, etc. I was so concerned that we would have to be in the room during testing due to his shyness but Dr. Adler was great and DS happlily went off with him. His phone # is 301-951-5666. I was referred to him by someone on DCUM. We met with him this morning to discuss the report and he gave us great insight about schools we should consider. |
I agree - Joel Adler of Assessment Associates is terrific. My DS had a great experience with him. Highly recommend him. |
I had a good experience with Linda McGhee at Metropolitan Counseling in Bethesda |
you don't need an educational psychologist to administer/score & interpret the tests. A clinical psychologist with assessment background has the training.

OK, but strongly recommend using someone the schools are familiar with. I second the Joel Adler rec. He's great. |
We have a slightly quirky little girl, who can be shy at first, very independent and creative... but won't say much to new people. Any recs? she is 4. |
Highly recommend Dr. Judith Glasser, PhD. 301-610-6300 in Rockville. She is warm, thorough and patient. |
Fran Turner was wonderful with your child. |
