Vet near NW DC and/or if you have left Friendship Hospital

Anonymous
I am trying to figure out whether to stay with Friendship - perfectly good vets, but long wait times for routine appts, being on hold for endless amounts of time if I need anything, and I think the routine care is pricey although I have nothing to compare it to. Has anyone left and found a good replacement? and/or any suggestions of where to try?

Thanks!

We also go to City Paws. Friendly, and the service has been fine for routine care.

We are happy with Dupont Vet Clinic. They've been able to get us in pretty quickly for minor issues and routine wellness exams.

I just did the same thing. I love Bond Vet in Bethesda. They have spent more time with me than any other vet. I have a senior dog and a new pup, and they are really great for both. Plus it lacks the chaos of Friendship. So far, no judgmental treatment, reasonable treatments for my older dog based on priorities, quality of life, and cost. I'm really happy I switched.

NOT Palisades Vet. Their vets are not reliable.

Anyone use Georgetown Vet hospital?

It's not in NW but I live in NW and am happy to commute to District Vet in Brookland. I have thought about switching to City Paws because I live in Cleveland Park but I really like Dr. Nichols at District Vet.

I just left Friendship for Small Door (in Spring Valley near Millie's). Have only been twice but it's crazy easy to make an appointment (there's an app), the wait times were very short, the pricing is reasonable, and I really liked the staff.

It's a bit of a drive but My family (my parents and now me) take our pets to Canal Clinic.

I second District Vet. I just started going to the Eastern Market location and see the owner Dr Teich. I’ve been a City Paws customer for years but really felt like their customer service has gone downhill over the past several years. I’ve been very impressed by District Vet so far. The office staff are very friendly and efficient.

Dr. Magowitz at Bond Vet in Bethesda used to be at Friendship. We love her.
