What is El Delerado Hills like?

Anonymous
We are contemplating a dc to Sacramento area move. Anyone with experience living in El Delerado Hills?

A large number of my coworkers live in Folsom or El Dorado Hills.
It’s too white for my family, but it’s a safe suburb that closer to Tahoe than the inner ring suburbs and has decent performing schools.
There is also a train that runs from Folsom to downtown if you’ll be commuting.

What specifically are you trying to evaluate?

It’s fine. White and boring. Some areas are high fire risk.

You mean El Dorado Hills?

It leans very, very conservative.

I live in the Bay Area and know people who have left for El Dorado Hills, and they all tend to be conservative. The houses look nice and huge, but very cookie cutter. Not a lot of trees. I think El Dorado Hills is on SMUD, so they have fewer blackouts, but yeah, fire danger, and since you are closer to the mountains than the Bay Area, your air quality during fire season will be worse than near the coast. The people I know who moved there absolutely love it though.

I’m just laughing to myself at the DC people
moving to “El Delerado.”
