My kids just texted me that they are in lockdown as of 2:40 pm. There was a drill yesterday, so not sure if this is related. Has anyone else heard anything?

My student just texted that they heard it's something going on outside the school, not inside. I live very close to school and can hear a ton of sirens.

Just got a text from JRHS that there is no threat to the campus and no exiting or entering the building during lockdown.

I have checked the website. I get all kinds of other messages from the school, but nothing on this critical event. I just sent a message to them. I don't know if this is rumor or not, but according to my child
"There is someone on school property that has a knife. Someone got shot out of the school."

Finally just got a message from the school "Students and staff are safe. During lockdown entering/exiting the building is not permitted. We will share more as soon as we are able."

The school has emailed and texted us.

The text I just got from the school says "our school building is currently in lockdown status due to police activity nearby. Students and staff are safe."

Nothing on Twitter. My kid said they don't know what's happening, but heard about a shooting.

Can you let us know the source of your information? More information here than from the school. Unfortunately, the violence in and around the school seems to have significantly increased in the past couple of years. I sure wish that the Bowser administration would make this a priority. It should not be stressful for kids to go to school.
