Alternatives to foundation for the summer

Anonymous
I have acne prone skin and my skin tone is pretty uneven so I wear foundation most of the year (Neutrogena). In the summer, I hate sweating and wiping it off along with my foundation. Can any recommend either foundation that isn't heavy and thick or something else? I use concealer on any problem pimples, etc but my nose is redder than the rest of my face so going w/o anything isn't good either. TIA!

I have the same problem with skin getting oilier in the summer, so I switch from liquid foundation to dry. I use Studio Fix (by Mac), it's like a powder compact but provides better coverage and can be applied either with a brush or sponge.

Try Revlon ColorStay - it really won't come off even in the humidity around here. Comes off with gentle cleanser and a soft washcloth at night.

I really sweat in the summer and it's the only one that really stays on!

Try it - if you don't like it you can get your money back from most drugstores.

Also try tinted moisturizers: Laura Mercier and Le Metier make the best ones, but I think Neutrogena has one as well.

Bobbi Brown just came out with an oil free Natural finish foundation. I LOVE it! I have acne prone, oily skin. I have not broken out at all! Plus, it does not melt off! I wore it in TX (95 degrees) and still looked good!

Not the OP, but do any of them have SPF or do you wear SPF seperatley?

I use a mineral powder foundation (Laura Mercier) in the summer, and I love it. Provides great coverage but is very light.

I made the switch to mineral makeup a while ago and never looked back. It' great for acne prone skin. An added benefit is that it's great in hotter weather as it is not a liquid. It also contains SPF. I used to use Bare Essentials, but now I use a brand that I get from LA. I would definitely consider this, OP. It's a total makeup switch, but you will be so much happier!

Neutrogena Skin Enhancer - a tinted moisturizer - has spf. I tried it after reading about it here and love it! very light but smooths out skin tone. I use it instead of foundation now.
