Your memories of white flint

I don’t have many as I’m not a mall person however when I was in 3rd grade in Mcps there was a haiku event where we made a haiku and drew a picture and they were out on slides and shown at the movie theater at white flint. Then I saw labyrinth there and the smell of the Leather from the David Bowie fans made me nauseous

My mom would drop me off when I was in middle school and me and my friend would spend 5 hours trying on fancy clothes and not buy anything. Then we would go to the restaurant in the middle at the top and order strawberry daiquiris.

I always thought white fleet was the fancy and expensive mall. I always thought the food court was cool and now thinking back it’s so typical 80s with the neon lights!

I grew up in Gaithersburg and I shopped for back to school clothes at Lakeforest (Limited, Benetton, Express, Britches). I had a friend who went to White Flint, and if I recall also had lunch at the Cheesecake Factory afterward. I thought she was so rich and fancy.

I went a lot in the early 2000s and it wasn't what it had been in its heyday but it was still pretty good--Borders was there, the Cheesecake Factory, Bloomingdales. It was vibrant enough...

At some point, a restaurant that would make bread in a little clay flower pot. That was an upgrade! But yes, that Chi Chis!

I had my first date there! If you were regular, you might go to the Wendy's after the movie. If you were fancy, that little French restaurant, also near the theater? Anyone remember the name?

This was 1991, before the big reno with the Cheesecake Factory and the Barnes & Noble (or was it Borders?)

Wait, AFTER that I had my first date with my husband there (1995). I didn't even live in Bethesda lol, not sure how this kept happening.

Here’s a drone fly through video taken shortly before it was demolished.

I took photos of a lot of it before it was demolished. My doctor had an office there and it was one of the final appointments before they moved. The food court was empty except for one guy taking a nap.

My friend used to work at the movie theatre and the manager would let us in free if we ordered a lot of concessions.

I ran into the hooker I was in love with there
