Did anyone join Equinox in Bethesda?

I really wanted too- but it was so super expensive and it seems the prices will still go up! I'm so bummed- I knew it would be high- but sheesh... It looks amazing.

I ended up joining at the charter member rate - it was less than $20 more a month than Bethesda Sport and Health and they were waiving the initiation fee.

I just posted a question about this in off-topic. How much is it to join? I'm really interested and I know if I make the all or meet the sales person, I'll definitely be talked into it whether or not I should. I pay around $75/month a WSC, but their childcare is awful and they don't have enough classes at the times I'd like to go (around 9:30 am).

As of yesterday they were saying $115 (maybe $110, I can't recall) per month, with the initiation fee waived. I do know someone who got a $100 rate about a month ago. Hope this helps.

I spoke with a rep who also quoted $115/month. I could live with that, but I'm not sure about the no parking thing & $9/hr babysitting.

I joined at the charter rate -- $105 and no initiation fee. I work out before work, so there's ample free parking. I am reserving judgment on the $9 babysitting until I see the quality of what is provided for the kiddos.

I just realized that it's only $26/month more than my WSC membership. While WSC only charges $3/hr for babysitting, it sucks. I guess (hope) you get what you pay for since the main reason I don't work out as much as I'd like is b/c I feel bad leaving my kids in their crappy daycare.

The $9 is for TWO hours. If you buy a 20-pack it's only $7 per two hours or $3.50/hour!
I agree though that parking is an issue -- especially with a baby, even a few blocks in the winter is a bit of a pain in the neck.
I just got quoted $120/month and waived initiation.

It was $115/mo $0 initiation yesterday ... I joined.

I joined as well at the $105/month charter member rate.

I joined the Lifetime Athletic in Rockville off of Seven Locks. Child care is only $6 per child for the entire month. So for two kids, instead of $90 per month, I pay $102 per month.

So it opened today. What did everyone think?

It exceeded my expectations!

I took 2 group exercise classes there today and yesterday. The classes were awesome but very crowded: every square inch of the floor was taken. Yesterday, the gym was open to the public but it was even more crowded today. It's a beautiful gym but I hope that the crowds die down.

Definitely way too crowded! It'll suck if the crowds don't die down.
